Purpose: CASE provides academically based service-learning experiences
for undergraduates. CASE combines a 3-credit classroom course with a 1-credit
service learning placement directly related to the subject matter of the
course. Students enrolled in CASE courses perform 40 hours of community
service each semester as part of their academic requirement.

Current Community Service Projects in New Brunswick: More than
1,500 students took part in CASE-related courses in the 1997-98 academic
year, providing 75,000 hours of community service. Much of this volunteer
activity was done to benefit residents of New Brunswick and nearby communities.
