Looking for a fun program to help encourage more walking? Use the Walk New Jersey Point-to-Point Challenge program to encourage both children and adults to virtually walk across New Jersey, from Cape May Point to High Point!

 

The Walk New Jersey Point-to-Point Challenge program can be initiated in the classroom, by a group of friends, or individually through the program web site, https://www.getmovinggethealthynj.

The program website also includes some helpful tools for completing the Walk New Jersey Point-to-Point Challenge.  The tools include:

 

  • Mile Equivalents that allow you to see how other activities can count towards the Walk NJ Challenge.

 

  • Tips for using a pedometer properly.

 

  • Information about the appropriate gear for walking.

 

  • Tips for getting your walking program off to a good start.

 

  • Forms to help you along the way with your program.

 

The Walk New Jersey Point-to-Point Challenge program is a product of Get Moving - Get Healthy New Jersey, led by a team of professionals from Rutgers - Cooperative Extension, a

 

unit of New Jersey Agricultural Station in cooperation with other agencies and sponsors. The mission of Get Moving - Get Healthy New Jersey is to improve the health of individuals, families and communities. Get Moving - Get Healthy New Jersey encourages a healthy lifestyle, especially healthy eating and physical activity, through educational programs, a website, publications, and targeted marketing campaigns.
