As another way to keep our members abreast of information about our society, SSIT has inaugurated an e-newsletter with this issue. Questions, comments, and items of interest should be directed to the newsletter editor: Karl Perusich, Ph.D. at kperusic@galaxyinternet.net.
The ISTAS 2003 conference will be held September 24-26, 2003 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This years theme is”Technology, Crime Prevention and Security”. Registration and other information can be found at www.senter.nl/crimeprevention
The ISTAS 2004 conference will be held at on June 17-19, 2004 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. Its general theme is ”Globalizing Technological Education”. Paper and panel proposals are due January 30, 2004. Additional questions should be directed to the general chair, Lance Schachterle at les@wpi.edu .
Spring Board of Governors Meeting
The SSIT board of governors met at for their spring meeting. Highlights of the meeting include the approval of an e-newsletter, the appointment of a new editor for Technology and Society Magazine, and the creation of an SSIT Fellows Committee.
