Overview
Recommended length: 8-15 double spaced pages. Max length 20 pages.
Preferred format: Please submit your paper electronically on disk or via email (to d.morton@ieee.org) as a Microsoft Word file. If this is not possible, submit your paper electronically as an ASCI (plain text) file. Note that if you submit your paper as plain text or ASCI, you must format end note numbers manually and you can not include graphs or comlex equations. If you can not submit electronically or your paper involves significant formulae or charts, you must submit your paper in camera-ready form. See the notes at the end of this document pertaining to camera-ready submissions. All papers must be written in English.
Deadline: 1 June 1999. Papers submitted late will not appear
in the proceedings, and you may lose your place on the symposium program.

D. References and notes. Please use end notes.
You are free to use any style notation you choose, as long as the references

G. References. Conclude your paper with your list of citations. Do not include a separate bibliography. Please consult the Chicago Manual of Style for questions on citation.
H. Biography. Include a short biographical
statement (up to 100 words) at the end of your paper.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR PAPERS WITH EQUATIONS OR ARTWORK
If your paper contains complex equations, charts, graphs, line art, or photographs, you must submit the entire paper as camera-ready art. In general, the guidelines above apply. You must supply a document printed in a serif font such as New York or Times Roman with a font size no larger than 10 points. The document must be formatted in two-column style (left and right justification) and fit on an 8.5 inch by 11 inch (21.6 x 27.9cm) page with .7 inch (18mm) left and right margins and .8 inch (21 mm) top and bottom margins. The column width must be 3.5 inches (89 millimeters) with 0.2 inches (5 mm) between columns. The text must be printed at the equivalent of 300 dpi resolution, and all artwork and captions must be pasted into the document.
Equations must be numbered consecutively with equation
numbers in parenthesis flush with the right margin. To make your
equations more compact, you may use the solidus (/), the exp function,
or appropriate exponents. Italicize Roman symbols for quantices and
variables, but not Greek sumbols. Use a long dash rather than a hyphen
for a minus sign. Use parentheses to avoid ambiguities in denominators.
Punctuate equations with commas or periods when they are part of a sentence.
