Continuing Students

If you are a continuing student that had an award during the past year, only an updated Employee Information Form is needed for payroll paperwork. Any changed that need to be made can be done by signing into the RIAS/Payroll website. HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT IS STILL REQUIRED EVEN IF YOU HAD COVERAGE LAST YEAR. SEE BELOW.

ALL STUDENTS: Heath Insurance

All formal Teaching or Graduate Assistants are eligible to receive health benefits coverage during the term of employment.

If your appointment is full-time (100%) and full year (September-May) you are eligible for the full time health benefits package. Full-time/full year TA/GA Benefits information can be found here. In this case, contact Keri Alvia at kalvia@rutgers.edu to register for an August or September benefits orientation offered through University Human Resources for this plan.

If you are part-time (less than 100%) or less than full year (Sept-December or January-May), you are eligible for the part-time benefits plan located here. Please follow website instructions and you will be automatically enrolled by the university. It is not necessary to attend a benefit orientation or complete any application form. You should receive health benefits information from Aetna and are covered as of Sept. 1. You can read about the Aetna plan on this page. If you have further questions, contact a UHR Benefits Specialist at 848-932-3990..

It is the student's responsibility to follow through on enrollment if benefits are desired. If you have questions, please let us know.
