Garden State Parkway Southbound Travel Advisory:

The NJ Department of Transportation's (NJDOT) construction activities associated with the Route 18 Reconstruction project have begun in the New Brunswick area. As a result, drivers are likely to experience delays, traffic pattern changes and possible lane and road closures when traveling through the area. For more information related to the Route 18 Construction project, visit the Route 18 Update website at http://route18update.rutgers.edu/ .

Turn off at Exit 129 for the New Jersey Turnpike and head south. Turn off the Turnpike at Exit 9, bear right after the toolbooths and follow signs for "Route 18 North - New Brunswick." Stay to the left to continue on Route 18. Continue through the traffic light at Paulus Blvd. You will pass the first exit for George Street. Take the next exit for New Street. Continue on New Street and the Civic Square Building will be on your right at the corner of New Street and Livingston Ave.

Turn off at Exit 105 and follow signs for Route 18 North. After approximately 24 miles, you will pass the entrance for the New Jersey Turnpike. Stay to the left to continue on Route 18. Continue through the traffic light at Paulus Blvd. You will pass the first exit for George Street. Take the next exit for New Street. Continue on New Street and the Civic Square Building will be on your right at the corner of New Street and Livingston Ave.

Interstate 287 Travel Advisory:

The NJ Department of Transportation's (NJDOT) construction activities associated with the Route 18 Reconstruction project have begun in the New Brunswick area. As a result, drivers are likely to experience delays, traffic pattern changes and possible lane and road closures when traveling through the area. Turn off Exit 9 "River Road, Bound Brook, Highland Park." Proceed East on River Road toward Highland Park. Make a right onto Route 18 South. Cross the Raritan River. Stay in the right lane and take the first exit which is marked "George Street - Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Route 27." At the traffic light at the top of the exit ramp proceed straight on George Street. Continue along George Street through several lights and make a right onto Livingston Avenue. The Civic Square Building will be on the right at the corner of Livingston Avenue and New Street.

Continue on New Street and the Civic Square Building will be on your right at the corner of New Street and Livingston Ave.

PUBLIC Transportation

By Train:
The New Brunswick train station, which has Amtrak connections, is about an hour from New York City and Philadelphia. Civic Square is approximately five minutes walking distance from the station. Cross Albany St. (Route 27) and turn left. Walk a block and a half to George St. Turn right onto George St. and walk four blocks to Livingston Ave. Turn right onto Livingston Ave. Civic Square is at the corner of Livingston and New St.
The New Brunswick train station is on the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line. Trains run frequently from New York, Pennsylvania, and Newark International Airport. View the train schedule at the NJ Transit web site.
