Purpose: The Recreation Board is an advisory council that assists in the administration of recreational activities. The student run organization is responsible for bringing innovative special events to the campus each semester. The goal of the board is to make student life on the Cook/Douglass campus as good as it can be! Members volunteer their time during the school year to help the organization reach this goal.

Current Community Service Projects in New Brunswick: Special Friends Day - Approximately 50 autistic/handicapped children visit our center for about 4 hours. Each child spends the day playing games and having fun with two volunteer "buddies". Annual event.

Current Community Service Projects in New Brunswick: Blood Drive (Sept 21) - Once each semester, Recreation runs a blood drive at the Rec Center. Generally, we collect almost 100 pints in a 5 hour period. (2pm - 7pm.)

Giving Tree - An annual event in which over 100 gifts are collected for needy children during the holidays.

Pen Pals - A writing campaign with 5th graders at John Adams Middle School in Edison, New Jersey.(Annual Event)
