The modeling and economic policy analyses of R/ECON™
are conducted by the staff of the award-winning Center for Urban Policy Research
at Rutgers University.
Dr. Nancy H. Mantell
has more than twenty-five years of modeling and forecasting experience. She has also been
associated with WEFA, Inc., and Urbanomics. With those organizations, she developed models
for short-term and long-term forecasting of the economy and tax revenues of New York State,
New York City, and New Jersey. She also used WEFA's large-scale model of the New York
region to conduct studies that evaluated the economic consequences of several
large projects in New York.
Dr. Michael L. Lahr
has twenty years of modeling experience at Battelle Memorial Institute, USDA's Economic
Research Service, and two regional economic consulting firms. During his tenure with these
organizations, he helped guide the development of technology-based strategic plans for
Fortune 500 firms, estimated the markets for emerging products, worked on several regional
economic impact studies, and forecasted the economies of states and metropolitan areas
around the country.
Dr. Norman J. Glickman
has more than twenty-five years of forecasting and modeling experience. He directed the first
regional modeling effort in the country at the University of Pennsylvania and has since directed
programs at the University of Texas and at Rutgers.
