The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking to fill a full-time tenure-track faculty position in urban design and urban planning (urban design, sustainable design, sustainable development and redevelopment, smart growth, healthy cities, and resilient neighborhoods). The position is at the assistant professor level or higher.
Applicants must have a Master of Architecture or Urban Design degree or a doctorate from an accredited school of architecture and we prefer that they have their degree by January 1, 2014. Ph.D's may be in any field relevant to design and urban planning (e.g. urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, or urban design).
The Edward J. Expertise may be in any relevant specialty (e.g., infrastructure, housing, natural resources, development processes, globalization, migration, vulnerability). The position will be at the assistant or associate professor level.
Applicants must have doctorates, and we prefer that they have their degree by January 1, 2014. Ph.D's may be in any field relevant to international planning and policy (e.g. urban planning, public policy, engineering, geography, economics, political science). The standard teaching assignment is two courses each semester, including undergraduate and graduate courses. The successful applicant will have classroom experience, field experience in a developing country, and a demonstrated commitment to performing high quality research.
The Bloustein School offers undergraduate degrees in Public Policy, Planning and Public Policy, and in Public Health; master's degrees in Urban Planning and Policy Development and in Public Policy; the Ph.D. in Planning and Public Policy; and joint degrees in public health, business, law, infrastructure, and other fields. The School has 18 research centers and institutes, and annually attracts at least $20 million in external funds.
