The Professional Development Institute develops leaders for urban planning in the 21st century

The Professional Development Institute (PDI) works to improve the quality of professional and continuing education in the fields of planning and public policy. We serve a wide range of professionals in such areas as community development, land use planning, nonprofit management, government services, historic preservation and economic development. If you work to benefit the public, we can help you.

We offer innovative and effective training and development programs, consult and provide technical support to other organizations that seek to improve their training programs, and conduct research about professional and career development issues in the fields of urban planning, community and economic development and public policy.
