The Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program (BOCEP) is where the best and brightest go to get smarter about planning and urban development. BOCEP offers high quality, convenient and affordable online courses in community development, economic development, planning law, professional practice, sustainable development,a nd urban design.

To suit many needs and budgets, we offer four types of online continuing education programming:

• BOCEP Deep Learning courses are 5.5 week classes that you can participate in at your convenience. There are no required meetings. Deep Learning courses help you build skills and become more creative and effective at addressing difficult problems. BOCEP Deep Learning courses are taught by seasoned practitioners and experts and give you the opportunity to share ideas and insights with other smart professionals from around the United States and other countries. Many of our courses give you the opportunity and time to work on real projects that are meaningful to you.
• BOCEP Deep Learning Live courses are similar to Deep Learning courses. But in these courses, learners participate in weekly meetings by videoconference.
• Learning Labs are 1 to 1 1/2 hour live webinars. But unlike some other webinars you may have participated in, we encourage participants to share their ideas and their experiences with their classmates. Learning Labs help you learn more about trends and important issues in planning and public affairs practice. Some help you build skills to become a more effective practitioner.
• Smart Conversations are 1 to 1 1/2 hour interviews with leading thinkers and practitioners on a wide variety of topics. As with Learning Labs, we encourage participants to share their thoughts and experiences.

Since 2005, we have offered more than 65 courses in a wide range of topics and for a wide range of practitioners. We have served more than 1,000 learners. Our course evaluations consistently show that the vast majority of learners found their courses to be useful for their jobs and careers. See upcoming courses.

All Deep Learning courses are taught at a graduate level, and almost all of them are eligible for 14 AICP Certification Maintenance credits. All Learning Labs and Smart Conversations that are directly related to planning practice are eligible for AICP Certification Maintenance credits.
