Research Interests:

I entered the Bloustein doctoral program in 2011 with a broad interest in the experience and representation of public space, particularly as it relates to gender. This interest has since morphed into a dissertation project that investigates the relationship between gender, employment, and transportation mobility in Bangalore, India. I focus on the role of company/employer sponsored bus services within various economic sectors—the conditions that give rise to this form of quasi-public transportation and why there is a gender dimension to both the user and provider side of such services.
